In Episode 26 we cover the end of the Dallar Star’s NHL playoff run, while Arsenal and the Cleveland Cavaliers hang on to hope for the end of their season. The trip to The Mailroom reveals the Dallas Mavericks couldn’t hit an open shot this season, while the Cavaliers are struggling to hang onto the ball this postseason.
This week’s Deep Dive turns to the New York Mets, a franchise defined by dramatic highs, crushing lows, and sky-high expectations. We look back at the unforgettable 1986 season, when a swagger (and drug)-filled Mets roster stormed through baseball and delivered one of the wildest championship runs in MLB history—culminating in a legendary World Series comeback against the Boston Red Sox that cemented the team’s place in baseball lore. Despite carrying the second-highest payroll in Major League Baseball this season, the Mets have struggled to meet expectations this season, battling inconsistency, underperformance, and mounting pressure in a division that offers little margin for error.

Misery Sports Co. Episode 26 Transcript
Welcome back to Misery Sports Co, the podcast tracking losses, coping mechanisms and collapsing playoff dreams across the country. I’m Zach and I’m Trevor and we are back from a hiatus. I don’t think anybody wanted to hear us hacking up along on the microphone. I got sick a couple weeks ago. You followed suit. We are back and better than ever. We are back and better than ever and we have not seen each other in person. We did not pass this back and forth. It was just. It’s that time of year. Kids bring home bugs. That’s what happens. Yep. True story. But before we go into our first segment, our first segment is going to be our weekly performance review, as it always is. Trevor, who is that first sponsor? So glad you asked. This fall on Fox comes a show that’ll pump Lady Liberty back full of testosterone. It’s cops sports edition. Follow officers on patrol that get tipped off by TMZ sports or the FBI, or corrupt league officials who won’t keep their goddamn nose out of. The good thing we got going in this week’s episode. Officers roll up on a mansion in the Hamptons to find their grisliest discovery yet? Hey, uh, we got a call about some crimes. Is that. Oh, it’s Chauncey Billups here, and he’s with Terry Rozier. Oh, my God, they’re watching Pakistani cricket. It’s pretty bleak. Yeah. Sense of backup. Maybe a social worker bring a teddy bear for Scary Terry. Wait. We got somebody in the closet. Come out with your hands up. Oh, Scott Foster, for fuck’s sake. It’s cops sports edition. Wow, that was some bumping production there. Ooh, It’s over here. Oh, we will we will take those sponsorship dollars. Uh, sorry, Chauncey. Uh, you shouldn’t have done that. Shouldn’t have done it. You had the opportunity. That’s what he did. All right, well, jumping into our weekly performance review. So each episode, we take a look at some of the, uh, the teams that we support. Even looking at, uh, some teams that we’ve covered at Misery Sports Co in previous episodes. Trevor, what have you got for us this week? Well, it’s another magical time of year. Isn’t it crazy that the NFL can monetize just giving us their schedule. It’s insane how well they do staying relevant. But today was NFL schedule release time. Very exciting time. All of the social media teams do fun stuff. The Titans did a pretty fun one where they went up and tried to find look alikes for the different teams. It’s very visual. Won’t go over it here, but look it up. They did well. Uh, and I just want to say that on October twenty fifth it is the MSC Bowl. Zach, you and I have been talking about going to see the Browns and Titans for years. I think I think a decade, at least a decade, if not more. And this is the last year that the Titans will play at Nissan Stadium. And we can go be one of the quite possibly six thousand people at the Titans and Browns game on October twenty fifth. So we’re thinking about going making it the MSC Bowl. Maybe we can take a an audio recorder and grab some audio from some fans and just have a good time. And I think it’d be super fun. Thank you. Uh, in fifteen seconds, I am going to run down the entire Titans schedule and what I think will happen with each of the games. You ready? Fifteen seconds. All right. Let’s let’s hear it. Maybe. No. Maybe. No no no. Maybe. Probably not win because it’s the bye week. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe. Nope. Definitely not. Nope. Hopefully. Hopefully. And absolutely not. So there’s the whole season. We don’t even have to watch the games. I just told you what was going to happen. Wow. That’s, uh. That’s impressive. Trevor. Well done. Banking on those two. Hopefully at the end of the year, which I’m not overly hopeful about. Uh, since we’ve talked last, the stars lost, so they’re out of the playoffs. Thanks, stars. Uh, they lost in six games to the wild. Who then lost it shows you how long we’ve been gone. Uh, they lost in five to the avalanche. That was a quick series. I guess I’m rooting for Carolina. I guess because they have Logan Stan Cohen, who was our little teddy bear of a rookie that we traded for Mikko Rantanen. So I guess I’m rooting for them really anybody but Vegas or Colorado. And I’m good there because of what they did would be awesome. Just want to clarify. I think it’s important. I’m rooting against Vegas because they beat the stars several times in the playoffs. There’s no other reason for this. I don’t want to hear about it. Uh, and finally the it was NBA draft time or not draft time. It was NBA lottery time. Mavericks got the second most likely outcome, which was sliding down a spot to nine from eight. So there you go. NBA universe balance is restored from us getting Cooper Flagg. Now we’re sliding back down in the draft. So there you go. What’s going on in your neck of the woods? Well from a I don’t know, from a baseball perspective, you and I don’t watch a ton of baseball. Right? We kind of follow it. Um, loosely. However, the Cleveland Guardians have to be very, very careful. After this last episode. Yeah. Legal guardians. And the Chicago Cubs are leading their divisions, respectively. Um, the Guardians are at twenty four and twenty one, so they’re not even that great. I don’t, you know, it’s the best of the worst at this point, but let them live. Um, don’t have a ton going on. You know, in my sports world we got, you know, the Browns. I haven’t really taken a close look at the schedule. I’ll have to have a take on that next week. It’s probably going to be similar to yours. Just a bunch of losses. But um, I did skim it a ton of one o’clock games. And then just one Thursday night, they’re like, here you go. Like you can just leave us alone. You’re on prime. So, um, yeah, we’ll have our, our night game against the Steelers. I guess. Thankfully we’re not going to Europe. I’ll take that. That’s always kind of a weird thing in the schedule. Yeah. Um yeah I it’s still too early, Trevor, but there are still murmurs that Deshaun Watson is going to start up in my face. I’m here for it. I know redemption. He’s a grown and changed man. We don’t give people second third, fourth and fifth chances. Are you serious. Come on now. Yeah he’s on you know third or fourth at this point. Um, he did blow his Achilles while the Browns fans were booing him. So like there’s kind of this turnaround now where it’s like, I don’t know if we can really boo you anymore because your Achilles popped. Everybody saw it live. So um, I don’t know. We’ll see. Uh, I’m just hoping for some level of improvement on the offensive side with the Browns, but really the, uh, the two teams that I’ve got right now. Trevor. Arsenal. So Arsenal is come on one game away from winning the Premier League. Oh man city ended up drawing. And so all Arsenal has to do is beat. I think it’s West Ham who’s like the third worst team at home. We have to win the game. If we tie the game, we lose the EPL, so we have to win the game. No pressure. I will not do it. So I’m just hoping they they just figure it out for one game. Please. It’s been so many second place you know Charlie Brown getting the ball pulled from him finishes. And on top of that they are going to the Champions League. So they will be playing the PSG team from France. All right that’s what’s up. League final. Nice. They crushed us actually last year in the Champions League. So not expecting much from that. But hey they’re doing big things. And these are the teams right. We cover it at Missouri Sports Co. These are the teams that just give you a distraction from the craters that you have with the the Browns and the Titans. Um the other one is the Cleveland Cavaliers. So the Cleveland Cavaliers since we last spoke Big stuff came through on game seven against the Toronto Raptors. Really physical series did not look great at several moments, but then all of a sudden the second half of game seven, they just turned it on. Jared Allen, baby O. Jared Allen went crazy. And I said that actually on one of our episodes we will go as far as Jared Allen takes us. He is awesome. When you get him involved, he starts blocking shots, dunking on people. Um, Mitchell Donovan Mitchell has just been erratic. I guess. I don’t know what’s going on. I thought he might be injured and I still kind of believe that he doesn’t seem super explosive. Uh, we’re in a series right now with the Detroit Pistons, so we just had game five uh, yesterday Cavs pulled it out. So they’re up three two. Um pulled it out in OT. Yeah buddy. James Harden man that’s the last point I have. What an experience it has been. Um you and I both knew it. James Harden’s that dude at the Y that he just crosses everybody over. He gets buckets and he is not running back on defense. He’s just getting ready to get the ball again. Nope. Not thinking about it at all. When he when you run by James Harden he will swipe one time. And if that hits the ball we’re good. But most of the time it doesn’t. And that’s his contribution. I’m here for it. And it’s funny because I think people get taken caught off guard I guess with James Harden in those swipes right. Because they don’t think that he’s going to do anything. And he just goes it’s like a cat. It’s like that. He like gets the ball out. Yeah man. Yup. Sometimes it works dude. It it does. I mean he’s still a big body. He can get in the way of people. However, on the offensive side man he’s just starting to put it together. Um he’s crossing people over hitting game winning shots in game three. He just took over at the end. Um beautiful scored Seven. Eight. Nine points at the end of that game. Hit a three and got fouled. And they didn’t call it. Mhm. Ended up with twenty four and eleven assists in game four last night. He had thirty points and six assists. When Donovan Mitchell just didn’t even show up for the first three quarters. So hey James Harden you’re going to have games where he just he doesn’t he doesn’t want to play defense. Yup twenty points off turnovers in the first half of yesterday’s game. Trevor like I I was looking at it. I think we’re we are the top team at this point. Still in the playoffs at seventeen turnovers a game seven team yeah. Um Detroit’s not much better. Cade Cunningham is actually super fun to watch. Agreed. Um that’s the first time I’ve really seen him like on a deep dive and seen him in multiple games. But he’s entertaining. It’s been an entertaining series and we’ll see if we can pull it out on Friday. Mhm. It’s fun to have one of our teams making a run because it is. Otherwise, it looks bleak. We need this Cavs right to keep going. I need something in my life. I mean I know we got Arsenal too. But man I just need something. Dark days. We’re almost into that uh that off season wasteland where it’s just baseball. Baseball. That’s it. You start watching like ESPN the Ocho looking for that. Uh, what was that? That dude that could throw the beanbag cornhole. Okay. All right. Could be anybody. We’ll never know. He was pretty good. Uh, we’re actually gonna step away quick for a message from another one of our partners who continues to believe in this organization more than we do at times. Thank you. Trevor, have you ever screamed that’s a travel at a fifth grade basketball game with enough passion to frighten nearby grandparents. Then you need the youth Hoops Reality awareness program because no scout has ever said we discovered him during chaotic elementary school rec league play. To scare the grandparents. That’s a travel. That’s a travel. Oh my. What did he say, a travel? Oh, yeah. Thank you. This is a very important program for our community. And I don’t know if I if I’ve mentioned this to you on or off the pod, but I have been assistant coaching our oldest, his soccer team. And honestly, the best part about it is being on the other end of the field away from the parents, because like my wife will be like, oh my gosh, did you hear that mom? Or that dad who was just kind of screaming the whole time? And it’s like, no, it was great. The other side of the field, super quiet. I love it over there. Oh, Parents are the worst, myself included. Listen. Been there? Yeah. You can get into a game. You can support the team. It’s just like. Holy cow. Some parents just go nuts. I was I was watching a video. It was like a little league game in the ump. Couldn’t have been, you know, older than twenty one years old. And it was something about the music and the walk up music. And one of the coaches was just mad. He’s like, this is disrespectful or something. And the kid literally kid was like, uh, well, you can just leave. And the coach took his team and just left like, what are we doing? It’s unbelievable how quickly adults turn into children. Yeah. Youth sports events. It’s crazy. No awareness. But hey, shout out to Youth Hoops reality program. We love you. We’re happy to spread the good news. That’s right. Let’s head down to the mail room. Let’s see if there’s I don’t see any employees down here. I don’t remember if we let go of them. AI was definitely taking a primary position, but we’re here. Yeah, I think I was supposed to unlock the door a couple weeks ago and then we got sick. So there’s no there’s no more union, so we can do whatever we want. There’s no rules. Just right, baby, we busted that very aggressive messaging. What do you got from the mailroom? Uh, I got a couple entries for us. Um, I did see that, uh, bussin with the boys put out that there was the NFLPA survey where they asked all the players their preferences and their views on different things. And of the seventeen hundred, uh, NFL players, ninety two percent, ninety two percent said they prefer grass compared to turf. So ninety two percent said they prefer grass. And Jeff Mueller put. Josh Gordon voted grass but didn’t fully know what the survey was for. Oh, man. Too soon. Uh. Too soon. You know what our this podcast was built on the what ifs. If they would have just let him do his thing, but I digress. My biggest regrets. I had a Josh Gordon jersey. I got it for like ten bucks. It was a really nice jersey. And I tried to take the name off of it because it was like stitched on and I just jacked it up. I should have just kept Gordon on it. It was the Cleveland Browns. No one cares. We’re terrible. Oh, I’ve never heard that story. Big regret. Dude, I tried to like it was stitched. It was stitched. Gordon. Yeah. And it was a really nice jersey. I, it was at whatever Marshalls or something, just like they just wanted to get rid of it. And I was like, I think I can get that off. Like I don’t really want to walk around. And now it’s like almost retro or it’s like, yeah, Josh Gordon’s cool, man. Like, yeah, that would be a great one. Yeah. That’s so funny, man. Um, I did have another one. that maybe we can put on our website where there was some, uh, data that came out on the, the, the make percentage on wide open three point shots in the NBA this season. And so it kind of ranked everybody, uh, Denver, it was by far the top at forty, they made forty three percent of their wide open threes all the way at the bottom where the Dallas Mavericks at thirty five percent Cavaliers were top three. They were third. Uh, but that just kind of goes to tell you. Uh, so thank you, Mavericks season of, uh, of what’s going on. How about you? What you got in the, in the, the old mailbag? So I got some, uh, some Cavs stuff in the Twitterverse. Uh, this one’s a little bit older, you know, since we last spoke, uh, may fifth. So what, ten days, nine days. But it’s from at underdog at the time, the Cavaliers had had the most turnovers through eight playoff games at one hundred and forty one. Since nineteen ninety six. Good gracious. I mean, just the the games are really hard to watch. Trevor. I’m screaming a lot, which I don’t typically do anymore, but just giving the ball away. It’s just a dunk at the other end. That’s what basements are for, is for adults screaming at sports. So you’re fine. You keep you keep doing you. That’s true, that’s true. Uh, this next one is from the last game. So it was the press conference of game five. And this is Max Strus. So Max Strus has just had a great series fantastic role player for the Cavaliers. And uh this reporter has an interesting question for him. So for you um when you were out did you add muscle weight especially up top And did you was there something that you changed, like mentally? What’s that saying, I look bigger? I do. I do think you look bigger. Uh, I think I pretty much. Huh. I think you look like. Like they got a bunch of big guys. I think you look like them. I’ll take that as a compliment. Yeah. Um. Was there something I did not know? I mean, I just you were out so long, all you do is lift. I mean, I just oh my God. James Harden is just lean back in a chair laughing. They’re like what is this question. Oh my gosh. And he just doubles down and makes it worse. Just ask your bad question and then shut up till you get an answer. Oh my gosh. Yeah. That’s um that’s a tough, tough spot to be in. But this, this is uh, also post game. This is Charles Barkley, um, for the ESPN crew. Formerly what they were on TNT right. Last year. Yeah. Where they should still be the ESPN show sucks around for like twelve minutes every two weeks. Yeah. Totally agree. Um, this is Charles Barkley on Max Strus postgame. Max Strus played great. Okay. I’m thinking what everybody’s thinking. That’s a pretty man. I don’t think everybody’s thinking that. You were thinking that. Can I ask you a question? Yes you can. What are you. I’m just going to stop there. Everybody’s thinking it. No, nobody was thinking. Yeah. No, everybody’s thinking it. Chuck, what are you talking about? Oh my God. And good old Charles Barkley. He’s always good for one little Charles Barkley. Well, that’s all we got for the mail room. We’ll have to hire an intern this summer. Uh, it’s getting warmer out there. We’ll have to make sure we, uh, pay the AC bills as well in the mail room, or else, uh, we might have another incident. Not supposed to talk about. But before we go to the next segment, Trevor, who’s our next sponsor? this fall, gather your family to discuss the real issues facing this country. Not enough testosterone. That’s right. It’s cops sports edition, and we’re back with a vengeance. Follow our officers on the most confusing call yet. Yeah. We’re trying to arrest this guy for murder, like you said, but, guys, are you sure? Also, we’re the sports cops. I don’t I don’t understand how we got called for this. He what? No, no, no, I don’t I don’t think so. You said you said cornhole like the the beanbag toss. No, no that’s not possible because he’s it’s cops sports edition coming this fall to Fox right after the game show where you just name things because that’s where we are as a society now. Wow, what an experience. I think it’s going to be a great show. It’s going to be a ratings bonanza. What the hell is that guy’s name? Trevor. That’s going to drive me nuts. Uh, I hate that. I looked it up. Hang on. Uh, dude. Daisy? No, it’s like Dylan something. Dylan. Okay. Right. Oh, man. No. Dayton. Dayton. Webber. Dayton Webber. Heck of a story. He’ll be on Netflix at some point. Uh, thank you for the sponsorship. Sports cops. Uh, we accept your your paycheck. It’s now time for the Office of Moral Victories. Here, we recognize different teams, different players who have really stood out this week. Trevor, who you got, You know, last time we talked, uh, my employee of the week was Rick Bowness, who just had an all timer of a rant at the end of the season for the Blue Jackets and still love it. That has aged well. I think I’m I’m still very pro what he said. But you know what? This week I gotta go with James Roderick Harden, who has just changed my views and made me feel feelings that have made me very uncomfortable with my previous perceptions of what it’s like to watch James Harden and to be able to play so well for a team that I love so much and make me root for him. Congratulations James Harden. Never in a million years did I think I would I would be here right now applauding you. So congrats. You get the award. His career is just it’s actually incredible if you think about it. And obviously I didn’t until he was on the Cavs, but he’s like top five all time in three pointers made like total ever. He’s I think one of four. What was the stat. It was like two thousand points one thousand assists one thousand rebounds. It’s literally like LeBron Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and James Harden. Like there’s four players in the history. He is. He’s really fun to watch when he gets his crossover going and his dribbling and like the step back stuff. Does he foul bait a little bit. Yeah. But I almost feel like in his old age he’s just not as fast. He it’s like in his prime. It felt like he was s g a like he just wanted to get to the foul line and take the easy way out where now it’s like he’s just hitting tough shots like people are in his landing area. When he when he hits threes is he still embellishing. Sure. That’s the NBA. But like he’s he’s really stepped up for the Cavs. Yeah congrats James. We’ll definitely get that award sent out. Who else we send an award to. Zach, my employee of the week. This week actually just happened. I think today it is Mr. Garrick Higgo probably not pronouncing that right. He is playing in the PGA Championship, the golf tournament. And, uh, he showed up one minute late to his tee time and he got a two stroke penalty, went out and still shot a sixty nine. Are you serious? That’s crazy. One minute, one minute. And they give him a two stroke penalty for being late. Oh my gosh. That’s wild. Cruel. Yeah. Why wouldn’t it just be one or like like two. Two is a lot in a PGA champion. You’re not scoring a ton in a PGA Championship like I don’t. Yeah. And I’m sure he was just what over at the range or did he like really roll up in a car and like uh, that is a great question because they get there. They get there super early and are on the range forever. So like, right. And you don’t have a tour official being like, hey, we got to go. Now that seems crazy that that’s even an option. Have happened to you? Yeah. He still, he still fought and clawed and shot, you know, under par. So congrats to Garrick Higgo. I don’t think I’ll ever say that name again. But you know no. Welcome to the show. Welcome to the show. Hey, we never thought we’d say whatever the hell that team was. Who was that team? No, not team. Whatever. So I don’t know why I’m telling you to stop. I’m part of the problem, which is titled sponsorship around him. No no no no no. What was that? That team, that really weird sounding team that was like European something glimpsed Moto glimpsed. It was glimpse. I can’t believe you just pulled that now. You’re totally right. Yes. Glimt or something. Bodo Glimt, champs League man. Bodo Glimt. What a great shout out man. Bodo Glimt. Get more air time than they ever thought. You’re welcome. All right. Before we head to the, uh, the deep dive section, here’s a word from our last sponsor. Have you ever have you ever tried one crossover move from nineteen ninety seven and immediately needed ice, ibuprofen and spiritual guidance? Then join the middle aged pick up basketball medical collective where every game ends with someone saying, I used to be nice. I used to, I used to be real nice, you know? I just feel it every time I try to do something athletic nowadays, like my body just doesn’t respond. Mhm. It hurt. It’s. And it’s not always like you have to exert yourself really hard for it to just hurt. I wasn’t ready to fall off this cliff, but like, oh, I chased the kids around like ten minutes extra than I normally do next morning. Hip is wrong. Why is my hip wrong? Yeah. And, uh, we are actually really close to James Harden’s age, so maybe we should just be easy on him with his defense, because I don’t know if I would play defense either. Isn’t that so funny that you’re like, oh my God, he’s thirty seven. Like, put him down. That dude’s done. And then I just turned thirty seven like, that’s me. Like the fact that he’s still doing that is crazy. The fact that LeBron is still out there, that’s crazy. To also teaser, we gotta talk sometime this summer about the return that’s coming up. It could happen. We’ll see. See if there’s a Cleveland reunion. Yup yup yup. Well, let’s jump into the, uh, the deep dive. So each week we take a look at a team from across really any, any sports league. It could be, you know, North America. We’ve gone to Europe before. Uh, this week we are going to stay in the US. We’re going to go into the Major League Baseball. And we are going to cover none other than the New York Mets who thought this was a pretty relevant right now. So, you know, sometimes we just pick random teams. But I was like, you know what? This is, uh, pretty interesting. So a little bit about the New York Mets, founded in nineteen sixty two. I thought that would have been founded much like a earlier, I guess way older than that for sure. I feel like the Yankees are early nineteen hundreds, like nineteen oh five or nineteen oh six or something. Um, two championships. So they won in nineteen sixty nine and they won in nineteen eighty six. Have you heard much about their nineteen eighty six baseball team? Like off the Wall and on the field. But have you heard stories? Because I’m going to share some. I don’t think so, no. Okay. It was absolutely bonkers. It was drug fueled. Um. Hell yeah. One of their one of their pitchers. His last name’s darling. He wrote a book about it. Um, and this is from an ESPN excerpt. He said darling explains that players would take amphetamines before games and sometimes resort to alcohol to retrigger the effects of the amphetamines. Quote. You’d see guys toward the end of a game, maybe getting ready for their final at bat, double back into the locker room to chug a beer to re kick the beam so they could step to the plate. Completely wired and focused and dialed in. They had it down to a science with precision timing. They do that thing where you poke a hole in the can so the beer would flow shotgun style. They time it so that they were due to hit third or fourth that inning. And in their minds, that rush of beer would kind of jumpstart the amphetamines and get back to how they were feeling early in the game. Pump jack, good to go. I didn’t even know that was a thing. Like you can read trigger stuff. That’s crazy. That’s the first time I’ve ever heard that they won the freaking World Series. Like what in the world? Oh my word. Um, so I thought that was interesting. And then the other thing that I remember about the Mets is two thousand, right? So they had that subway series versus the Yankees. Mike Piazza broke his back. Roger Clemens threw it back. They were going to fight. Um, they didn’t do really well. They ended up losing that series. Uh, wasn’t particularly close. But that’s one of my, you know, memories of the Mets. Mhm. Yeah. I, uh, I don’t know that I have a ton of. Oh, there, um, uh, manager had like, yeah, yeah, the all time. Yeah. Bobby Valentine, do you remember where he got ejected? And then he came back to the bench with one of those like glasses and mustache things that just sat there and the ump came over like, get off the bench. What are you doing? He’s like, oh, I’m sorry. He’s like a t shirt. That’s a great memory. I love the apple that pops up when they hit a home run, then goes back down. Mr. and Mrs. met high quality kind of weird mascots. I don’t love how like anthropomorphized they are. It’s a little a little uncanny, but you know, iconic I guess. I like their logo. It’s kind of like old school nostalgic to me. Like they haven’t changed it too much from when we grew up, you know, nineties two thousand. MM. They are. So Another reason why you know, they are selected here is since two thousand, right? So twenty five seasons, twenty five full seasons or whatnot. Yeah, six playoff appearances and darn near five hundred. Two thousand and fifty nine wins to two thousand and forty nine losses during that time period. Wow. Currently, they are dead last in their division at eighteen and twenty five, and they have the second highest payroll in the in Major League Baseball behind only the Dodgers. Absolutely crazy. I know they took Lindor from Cleveland a few years ago. They assembled a super team. And it just it has not been put together. Mhm. Yeah. That’s. And to spend so much money, I mean, it’s one thing if like, you know, you’re the pirates and you can’t convince your your owners to spend the cash around schemes. But like when you are trying and you’ve got all this money out there and it’s not coming back. Another thing I think of with the Mets is there was a series with the Cubs in the playoffs, and it was around the World Series time. So I don’t know if it was like. On if it was like in fifteen or seventeen, like one of the bookends of it. But, um, there, third baseman David Wright just had one of those like superhuman series where like, what are you, what are you gonna do? Like you go up against one guy and it’s weird for it to happen in baseball. Like I remember in the Rangers one, uh, Adolis Garcia had like one of the greatest series of all time. Well, two of them really in the World Series and against the Diamondbacks. And then when you go up against that, you’re just like. And he’s not even a pitcher. It’s not like he’s a shut down pitcher. He’s a third baseman. But every time he came up. So I kind of have some some tough feelings with the Mets. But they’re welcome here. You lose games and it’s you hit the nail on the head. It’s super frustrating when you have an owner that will spend the money. I mean, the Browns I feel have an owner that will spend as much money as humanly possible to win a game, and it just doesn’t come together, especially in baseball. Like money talks, there’s no cap and you’re getting to the point where you’re at the top of that spending and you’re not seeing anything. It’s as a fan, I feel for them, especially. Not only that, but then you also have the Yankees shadow, right? They always have success. Absolutely. Can’t get out of that shadow. Yep.
